This piece seems to be fairly sturdy for it’s midrange price. I was expecting the advertised “on/off” switch to be just that but it is only momentary! If the tailcap is screwed down all the way the laser stays on, you have to back it slightly off then the button becomes momentary. Personally I think there is a spring missing but I contacted the company and they told me it was never designed to be on/off. I guess that’s one less thing that can fail?
You must unscrew the front cap to access the windage/elevation screws then tighten the tailcap to make the unit stay on. I would recommend taking great care when handling adjustment and mounting screws, I also use a dot of LocTite at mounting points. Cross threading or overtightening spells doom to “made in China”!
The laser itself is highly visible at night and can be seen out to 50 yards in overcast daylight. Next test is if it will stand up to recoil of the 12 gauge shotgun it’s going to live on?
