Well, just make sure what you are doing is legit. I used to do the same thing, and we had regular run-ins with the cops. I look back on it, and I wonder what the hell I was thinking.

Base coat of Krylon Ultra Flat Brown, laid the gun on its side after drying and put random foliage over it, and topped it off with Krylon Ultra Flat Tan. Quick, simple, and elegant. When the paint begins to scratch, it is very easy to touch up without repainting the entire gun.

how did you paint that camo
February 28th, 2010 at 2:33 pm

Nice gun.

No problem! I know how tough it is to find somebody who knows their shit on Tanaka’s and is willing to give out info.. Most of the stuff you are just going to have to learn on your own. Hit me up if you have any more questions, and good luck with the project!

To put it simply, I was the most feared sniper at the field. I literally had instances where people would run and find cover when they saw me aiming my rifle at their position from a good 300 feet away. I only got one kill from that distance, but Im sure many more will come after I get this thing working again.

haha….before you “fucked” up the inner barrel did it do well in battles or did you not get a chance to use it ?
February 28th, 2010 at 5:44 pm
Hahaha… no. Right now, I have a $1k wallhanger. I fucked up the inner barrel by accident (I think I know how I did it, but dont remember doing so), and long story short, I need to do alot of tweaking to this thing. When I fix it, I should be back at getting 250-300 foot shots. Right now, I am lucky to get 100 feet.

okay, does the rifle perform well in airsoft battles?
February 28th, 2010 at 6:44 pm
The bull barrel means the outer diameter is larger than a standard barrel. What you want is a barrel with a VSR cut and a bull barrel with the last 60mm of the barrel the same outer diameter as a standard inner barrel. EdGI does not carry anything remotely close to that, so you will have to email/call them and ask for a custom order.
February 28th, 2010 at 6:54 pm
ok so does the bull barrel mean the outer diameter changes at the end of the barrel? I also saw they had a bull barrel for a VSR 10 on the edgi webstie but it was too short so i can ask for the same settings but in a longer length
February 28th, 2010 at 7:45 pm
I did not get any plugs, but then again, I got mine used. You will have to ask EdGI what the standard diameter is, Im afraid I cannot find my calipers at the moment.
February 28th, 2010 at 8:39 pm
whats the standard diameter and the barrel plugs come with the gun correct?
February 28th, 2010 at 8:59 pm
My inner barrel is 580mm, but you may want to bump yours up to 600mm (mine ends pretty far inside the gun). For the outer diameter you will want a bull barrel with the last 60mm being standard diameter to fit the barrel plug.
February 28th, 2010 at 9:21 pm
well how long is the inner barrel? i read that the real m24 sws is 660 mm. and just out of curiosity do you know what the outer diameter is b/c for the edgi custom barrel you need to give them an outer diameter. I know the hop up is a Vsr-10 and the length will probably be 580 mm like yours. thanks again for all the help
