This the the VFC M82A1 made by GB-tech. Its a gas non-blowback powered replica and fires 8mm plastic BBs. For this video I was using .43g 8mm BBs and an filled the gun with Red-Gas. The air temperature outside was about 50 degrees and the gun can still shoot through both sides of the plastic bucket. Sorry for the awful video but my camera sucks. And for all the folks asking, I paid $1600 for the gun and sold it for the same price about a year ago when I left for Iraq. You cannot buy this gun anymore they are discontinued and sold out.
The comments regarding the FPS of the SOCOM Gear Barrett raised my curiosity and decided to take a closer look at the relationship between BB weight and Velocity…
www.airsoftgi.com The Barrett M82 Sniper Rifle from SOCOM Gear is a beast of a gun. It’s nearly 5 feet long and weighs almost 30 pounds. Check out this full review from Tim at Airsoft GI.
This is a review of the new Socom Gear fully licensed version of the awesome Barrett M82A1 anti materiel sniper rifle. This is the only authorised version for airsoft and is very accurate in looks, and shoots something lovely. It will take all the upgrades and add-ons you can afford, but you will have to work out quite a bit if you plan to do more than simply look at it. You’ll have arms like an Orang Utan after using this for any length of time. Comes with 6 little Socom gear stickers too, a unique selling point for a rifle costing 800 bucks.
